I started blogging back in 2010. I was a passionate beauty blogger, and the name of my first blog was “Beyond the Kink.” It then changed to “Cosmetically-Challenged”. Once I realized that I wanted to talk about more than the latest lipstick shades I successfully rebranded as “Being Melody,” a lifestyle blog at the end of 2014 which provided me with the ability to work with some of my favorite brands and make great money while doing it.

Blogging is expensive! Not only does it cost you a lot of time, but can end up costing a good deal of money until you get to a point where you’re out earning what you’re spending.
Between hosting packages, monthly subscription services, memberships, contractors, supplies, photography equipment, fees, etc. It can easily cost upwards of $450+/ month to maintain your site.

In this upcoming “Can You Afford to Blog?” Series every Monday I’m going to share with you the actual cost of blogging from my perspective and the perspective of some of your favorite bloggers. I’ll be sharing my favorite platforms and time-saving apps, along with how you can make sure you’re getting the most from your investment.
